Samsung Bixby is a suite of artificial intelligence tools that make it easier for you to use your Samsung Galaxy phone and to organize your life.

From voice activation with Bixby Voice to image recognition through Bixby Vision to AI leaning via Bixby Home, here are just five ways Bixby improves your life.

Bixby’s full capabilities are available on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. Limited capabilities are available on other Samsung Galaxy devices.

Use Bixby Voice to Talk to Your Phone

Bixby Voice's strong suit is it understands voice commands. In particular, it understands commands that operate the phone. Any commands you use via the touchscreen can now be spoken into your phone.

When you want to send an email, for example, you’ll tell Bixby to open your mail app and send an email to your friend Sam. No more fumbling to open the email app, searching for an email address, then sending the email on its way.

To use voice commands with Bixby Voice:

  1. Press and hold the Bixby key on the side of your Samsung Galaxy phone.

If this is the first time you are using Bixby Voice, the app will guide you through the setup process.

  2. Say a command.

To find a list of commands that work with Bixby and your phone, tap Search Commands.

  3. Release the Bixby key.

Use Bixby Vision to Snap Photos to Find Information

Have you ever come across a plant you’ve never seen before and want to find out what it’s called? Maybe you want to figure out what kind of dog your neighbor has. Or, maybe you’re concerned someone has stolen images from your web site. When you want to find information but typing a description is too difficult, take a picture instead.

Bixby Vision makes it easy to visually search for information by using your phone’s camera to take a picture of the object you want to know more about, then finding images on the web that are similar to the object.

To search for information using your phone’s camera:

  1. Open Bixby Home by either pressing the Bixby key on your phone or swiping right on your phone.

  2. Scroll down the page to find the Bixby Vision card.

To shop with Bixby Vision:

  1. Open Bixby Home.

  2. Scroll down the page to find the Bixby Vision card.

Use Bixby Home to Find All Your Websites on One Page

Wouldn’t it be convenient to find all your favorite websites in one place? With Bixby Home, you can view your social media news feeds and your most visited websites from one convenient location.

Not only can you organize your online life, you’ll find other useful apps in Bixby Home. You’ll find an app that keeps you up-to-date with the weather, a list of your frequently used apps, quick access to your favorite tunes on Google Play Music, and more.

Bixby Home is organized into cards and each card is a placeholder for all of these apps. If Bixby Home contains a card for an app you don’t use or don’t want to see, remove the card. There are also more cards that can be added to Bixby Home.

To add a new card to Bixby Home:

  2. Say a command. For example, "lower the volume," "go to channel 12," or "show a list of action movies."
