There are plenty of good reasons to update Firefox to the latest version. Most often, especially in our area of expertise, updating Firefox is a good thing to try when the browser isn't working correctly.

Another reason to update Firefox, one that often goes unappreciated, is that hundreds of bugs are fixed with each release, preventing problems so you never have to experience them in the first place.

Regardless of why, it's easy to update Firefox to the latest version.

How Do I Update Firefox?

You can update Firefox by downloading and installing it directly from Mozilla:

Depending on how you have Firefox configured, updating may be completely automatic, meaning you don't need to manually download and install each update.

Other Versions of Firefox

Firefox is available in many languages for Windows, Mac, and Linux, in both 32-bit and 64-bit. You can see all of these downloads on one page on Mozilla's site.

Firefox is also available for Android devices via the Google Play store and Apple devices from the iOS App Store.

Pre-release versions of Firefox are also available for download. You can find them on Mozilla's Firefox Releases Page.

A number of "download sites" offer the latest version of Firefox, but some of them bundle additional, probably unwanted, software with their download of the browser. Save yourself a lot of trouble down the road and stick to Mozilla's site for downloading Firefox.
