Longing for an inbox you do not dread?

Let my enthusiasm for email and communication help you on the way to a happy and productive email experience.

My experience with email stretches back to the spam-free days of local BBSs (bulletin-board systems with oft-crude links to internet email).

From hacking up ridiculously simple (but functional) programs to fill my own email needs, I have gone to reviewing hundreds of email programs and services. Participating in early mailing lists at the Internet's iron age (the early 1990s), fetching files via email and rejoicing over every message received has led the way to discovering—and sharing—the best strategies to manage a deluge of personal, professional and junk email.

Since 1997, I have been covering all aspects of email and other forms of online communication with

  • hands-on steps to take that solve the problem you have right now instead of headlines that promise the world to garner your click and
  • guileless reviews and tips from the end user's perspective instead of buzzwords thrown around for no reason or scandal and conflict where none exist.

This, as they headline, is a no-brainer.

Howbeit studying at the university level for years (business informatics for a programming background, linguistics for the sheer fun of it and philosophy for the, well, discursive underpinnings… or is that "Uberbau"?), I am a passionate autodidact at heart.

"Email and its offspring—like instant messaging for speedy two-way talk, social networking sites for contact management as well as secure communication and RSS feeds for smart content syndication—are vital internet services. They prompt us to chat for hours or write lengthy letters; they help us discuss ideas and share knowledge; they enrich our lives and draw others closer.

On this site, we shall discover all the wonderful things you can do with email. You will find, e.g.,

for using internet communication to its fullest (and for getting rid of spam, too).

Would you allow me a personal recommendation? Do try dealing with your email tomorrow."
