About Grand Theft Auto 3

Grand Theft Auto 3 was released in 2001 and was the first game in the Grand Theft Auto series to introduce the third-person 3D gameplay perspective that we have come to know and love from the series. It also introduced a main character with a backstory which was an integral part of the overall storyline and missions.

Both the original Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2 were played in a two-dimensional top down and had fairly nondescript characters who didn't have much of a background. GTA 3 was also a hard game to finish/win. The non-linear, open-ended storyline allows players to move about the game world of Liberty City completing missions at their leisure.

In order to move the plot and story forward, however, at some point players will have to get past those hard missions that may be holding them up. This is where the GTA 3 Cheats, Walkthroughs, and Secrets can help.

Grand Theft Auto 3 was also the first game in the Grand Theft Auto 3 sub-series that included Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. All three games have a very similar look and feel as they were developed using the same game engine with slight updates to graphics and gameplay. These games also include some of the most controversial moments in the series.
