Identify Where a Contact Belongs in Mac OS X Mail

If you have set up a number of groups in Mac OS X Mail, possibly even smart groups, you may want to find out which groups any person belongs to. The Mac OS X Address Book has a gorgeous way of telling you.

To find out to which groups any address book entry belongs:

  • Open the Mac OS X Address Book.
  • Highlight the desired contact, either under All or in a specific group.
  • Press the Option key.

Any groups of which the contact is a member will be highlighted in the Group column.
