5 Great Travel Mice - 2015 Edition

It used to be that the only option you had for a travel mouse was a shrunken-down, hard-to-use flimsy device with a built-in retractable USB cable. But now some of the best travel mice can even make the greatest everyday mice. Even if you're just initially looking for something you can take on the road, you may end up finding your new favorite daily peripheral.

All of the mice in this list are wireless, and all of them use a nano receiver. (In this day and age, you shouldn't have it any other way.)

The Logitech M325 comes with a crucial feature you want in your travel mouse: a long battery life. While it may happen from time to time, no one wants to continuously hunt for batteries while traveling and end up getting gouged at the hotel gift shop. The M325 also comes with such bonus features as Micro Precise scrolling (really, really, really meticulous detent scrolling) and the company's Unifying Technology. It's also offered in a dizzying array of colors and patterns.

Simplicity is the calling card of the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500. This three-button laser mouse keeps features basic and traditional, which can be plus for many people who don't want a lot of bells and whistles. (For example, travel mice also make great mice for children.)

Still one of my favorite daily mice to use, the Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse remains portable enough to double as a travel mouse. The elegantly designed peripheral has a touch strip instead of a scroll wheel, and a glossy, comfortable build. In the world of computer peripherals, this is an oldie but a goodie.
