It's no secret that the Grand Theft Auto series has been a huge success among gamers. If you've already played the games and are waiting for a new release, take some of your old Grand Theft Auto games off the shelf and pop them back in the consoles or PC. To have some extra fun, take a look at all the great cheats and codes available for the GTA series of games.

The original Grand Theft Auto video game on the PC has a lengthy list of cheat codes. To use them, you enter the codes as a character name. Some of the more popular cheats include:

  • Unlimited Lives - Cheat code: 6031769 or itstantrum
  • No Police - Cheat code: iamthelaw
  • All Levels and Cities - Cheat code: nineinarow or super well
  • 9,999,999 Points - Cheat code: itcouldbeyou

If you play "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, check out the cheats available for the San Andreas version of the game on a PC. Cheat codes for GTA San Andreas are entered during gameplay by typing in the cheat to activate it. All the codes listed above for the original "Grand Theft Auto" work in "GTA San Andreas" along with many more. The codes are not case-sensitive. Here are a few examples:

  • Invisible Car - Cheat code: wheelsonlyplease

The cheat list for  "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the PlayStation 2 is huge. The cheat codes are entered during gameplay. You don't need to pause the game to enter a cheat code on the PS2, and most cheats can be turned on and off. To turn off a cheat, just re-enter the code. A sampling of the cheats includes:

  • All Pedestrians Are Elvis - Cheat code: L1, Circle, Triangle, L1, L1, Square, L2, Up, Down, Left
  • Infinite Ammo - Cheat code: L1, R1, Square, R1, Left, R2, R1, Left, Square, Down, L1, L1

The Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for Xbox cheats list is lengthy. Enter the cheat codes during gameplay. Here are a few of the more popular cheat codes for the Xbox: 

  • Maximum Vehicle Skills - Cheat Code: X, White, A, R, White (2), Left, R, Right, L (3) 
  • No Hunger - Cheat Code: X, White, R, Y, Up, X, White, Up, A
  • Drive on Water - Cheat Code: Right, Black, B, R, White, X, R, Black. To disable, repeat the code.

There is no shortage of cheat codes for Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on the PSP. All the cheats are entered during gameplay. Check out the complete list, but here are a few examples:

Using the Grand Theft Auto Advance for Gameboy Advance cheats is a little different from other GTA cheat codes—you must activate them first. To activate the cheat mode in "GTA Advance," enter this code during gameplay before you attempt to enter any cheat codes: Hold down A + B + Start.

After you activate the codes, you enter cheat codes during gameplay. You don't need to pause the game. There aren't a lot of cheat codes for GTA Advance, but here are a few of them:

  • $15,000 Cash - Cheat Code: Left, Right, Up, Down, L, L
  • Health - Cheat Code: Left, Right, Up, Down, B, B
  • Toggle Gang Hostility - Cheat Code: Left, Right, Up, Down, B, R
