Glide is a mobile app for iOS and Android devices that lets you record video messages and share them with your friends for free! First you record a message, then instantly send it to a friend. Then, your friend can watch the message as soon as it's received, or whenever's convenient. Glide is a fun way to stay connected with friends and family, and lets you say a more personal "hello" online. Keep reading to get started with the Glide mobile app for Android and iOS.

Getting Started With Glide:

Glide is free to download and use, and you can find it in the Google Play or App Store depending on the operating system of your mobile device. Once you have Glide on your phone, you'll need to log in with your Facebook information. Glide uses your Facebook friends and your phone contacts to create a list of people who also use the app.

Getting Friends On Glide:

There are several ways to add friends and groups to your Glide account. Tap on the icon in the top-right corner to access the Glide Friends section. Then, select "Get Friends" to choose a list of friends from your phone's contacts. As mentioned above, Glide will automatically add your Facebook friends to the list. Then, Glide will send a text message to each of your selected contacts letting them know about the app, and suggesting that they join.

Once you have a whole roster of Glide contacts, you can create different groups within the app.

This can be a great way to send video updates to different teams of people in your life, whether they be professional, creative, or for play!

Last but not least, you can tap once on the Glide main page to tweet about the app for your Twitter followers. They'll be able to follow a link to become Glide members, and to keep up with your video messages.

Sending A Glide:

Glide messages are supposed to be short and sweet - this helps Glide to send your messages quickly, and lets your friends answer instantly. To record your first video message, just tap the record icon. You'll have 42 seconds to record. When you're done, just tap the record button again and then choose a recipient for your video message. If you want to have more fun with your video messages, click the text icon in the lower-left corner to add text messages to your video, or send an emoji. If you need to flip your video camera to be front-facing (which most video messengers do), tap on the top right corner of the recording dialogue.

Once your friend receives your Glide, they can watch it right away or check it out later. All Glide messages are saved in a queue in the app so you can watch them when it's convenient for you. To respond, just click on the message and start recording!

Sending a Group Glide Message:

With every new Glide message you record, you get to choose your recipients - yes, there can be more than one! To do this, click on the three dots in the top-right corner, and choose "Add Friends". You can now select from all of your contacts, Facebook and Glide friends.

Your Glide recipients will appear as icons along the top of your video message, and they'll receive each message you record.

As each of the people in your Glide message group respond, their video messages will appear in a queue in the group video session. You can think of this like a full-screen instant message, but instead of different text messages, each response is represented as a video! To check out your friends' responses, just slide left and right through the different windows in the chat.

Live Customer Support:

One of the perks of Glide is its simplicity. Video messaging is no small feat, and Glide keeps the user interface easy to navigate and understand.

Even with large group messages, Glide is an almost foolproof video messaging service. That said, Glide is so committed to customer satisfaction that it features a live chat support feature which you can find in the settings menu.

Glide is free to download, is ad-free, and wants to stay ad-free. Check out Glide to see if it's the video communication platform for you!
