Different profiles will let people personalize their streaming experience. Original image: Pixabay The days of multiple people sharing a single Amazon Prime Video profile are over, as the streaming service now empowers users to create and manage up to six profiles. Catching up: Other services like HBO Max, Netflix, and Hulu already support multiple profiles on one account, so it’s really about time Prime Video did the same. How it works: There will always be one default primary profile, while additional profiles made for either adults or kids will exist under the same account. Movie and TV show recommendations, season progress, and watchlists will be based on individual profile activity, so people rewatching Game of Thrones won’t see someone else’s deep dive into Doctor Who. How to make a profile: To create a new profile using the Amazon website, select the profile dropdown menu on the Prime Video homepage, then select Add New. On the Prime Video iOS and Android app, scroll down to the bottom of the app page, then tap My Stuff. From there, tap the profile dropdown, then tap the Plus (+). Bottom line: Sharing streaming accounts is pretty common these days, and binge watching has gone up in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting quarantine. Keeping watch habits separate will make it easier for people to find what they’re looking for or spot a recommendation that’s perfect for them and no one else.
