How to Download the Discovery Plus App on an Apple TV

You can sign up for Discovery Plus online or from your Apple TV after installing the app.

  1. Launch the Apple TV and scroll down to the App Store.

  4. Search for Discovery Plus. Select Discovery Plus from the results.

  5. Select the download button.

  7. Select Sign-in or Subscribe Now. Sign in with your email and password, or follow the on-screen prompts to sign up for Discovery Plus.

Can You Get Discovery Plus on Your Apple TV?

If you have an Apple TV 4th generation, Apple TV 4K or later, that runs tvOS 13 or later (learn more about tvOS versions), you can download the Discovery Plus app from the App Store. You need to have the set-top box, which is different from the Apple TV app you might have on your smart TV or third-party streaming device.

If you have an older Apple TV, you can get Discovery Plus to your TV using AirPlay, Chromecast, or by connecting your computer, phone, or tablet with an HDMI cable. You can also get it on Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku models, smart TVs, and Xbox consoles.

Navigating Discovery Plus on an Apple TV

Once you’ve set up an account, you can browse categories like relationships and true crime, search for shows, or navigate by channel (HGTV, Food Network, etc.). Discovery has two paid plans—each offers the same content, but the more expensive option eliminates commercials.
