My Gear
For day-to-day writing work at my desk, I run a 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro with a 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, and a Radeon Pro 455 running macOS Catalina attached to a 4K LG display with a Keychron K2 (Gateron Brown switches) for input. When I don’t feel like carrying around the MacBook, my go-to is an 11-inch iPad Pro and an iPhone XS running the latest iOS and iPadOS betas I can get my hands on.
In my camera bag is a Canon EOS R and Canon 5D Mark III with half a dozen lenses from various manufacturers, a growing collection of LaCie SSDs for storing (and backing up my work) as well as a Loupedeck+ for tactile editing on-the-go.
When work is over, I use a liquid-cooled Alienware Aurora R7 with a 9th Gen Intel Core i5 9400, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB, 1TB HDD + 256 GB M.2 PCIe SSD Storage, and 16GB RAM to sim-race with my Oculus Rift S VR headset and Fanatec sim-racing gear. Other gear on hand includes an Apple Watch Series 5, an Optoma UHD50 projector for movie nights, a pair of 4K Apple TV units and enough computer peripherals to stock a small Best Buy.
