After Fring has been opened for the first time, a dialogue box will appear prompting you to enable or disable notifications for the app. iPhone push notifications are automatic alerts which appear on screen whenever you receive a message or call on the Fring app.

If you would like to be notified when an instant message and/or other update have been sent, tap the silver "Ok" button to enable notifications. If you would not like to be notified when updates have been sent to your Fring account, tap the blue "Don’t Allow" button.

How to Reset Notifications on Fring
After this initial setup, you will not be prompted to enable or disable alerts on your app again. However, there may be instances in which you would like to change how notifications appear, whether they can be seen when your device's lock screen appears, or to turn them on or off altogether. This can be accomplished easily:

  • Locate, tap the "Settings" icon.
  • Choose "Notifications" from the menu.
  • Scroll to locate the Fring app menu.
  • Choose your desired options:
    • Alert Style: Choose from three different styled notifications, including none, banners, and full alerts.
    • Badge App Icon: Add or remove the app icon from your notifications.
    • Sounds: Enable or disable alert sounds when messages are received.
    • View in Lock Screen: This option allows you (and potentially others) to see the message alerts sent when your device's screen is in lock mode. For more privacy, you may disable this option.
