To sign in, you require a name and an email address. Then you can at any time start a conference, without reservation. You will be provided with a number and a code, and your participants can use these to dial in your conference call. You can have as many conference calls as you wish, but each call can be up to 6 hours long, which is a lot.

You can have your call recorded and downloaded to your computer as WAV or MP3 file. Your callers as well can have the file, which they can access through a dedicated playback number, access code, and reference number. This is also available for free. In fact, everything is free, and there doesn’t seem to be any catch.

But the question arises as to how they make money or is it community service?

They earn money by doing some background work on the network, specifically by routing callers to LECs (local exchange carriers), which is the geek word for the local telephone company.

They get a percentage of the fees charged by these carriers during the bridging of wireless cell calls to landline networks.

The only thing you pay for is your phone company, whether landline, mobile or VoIP. Anyhow, the most important thing is that the money does not come from your pocket.

A conference call can host up to 96 participants, which is a lot. With the basic service, you don’t have web controls for your conference, but you do have account management tools. The web control provides an interface in your browser allowing conference organizers to view all participants on the conference call as well as to have access to features like participants which is a lot.

The service exists in some other flavors.
