Forwarding a text message can save you a ton of time and energy, but it's not always the easiest thing to figure out how to do. Whether you want to forward something you said to another person or you want to send a message exactly as you received it to another person in your contacts list, this is how you can forward a text message on your Android phone.

How to Forward a Text Message on Android

  1. Open your text messenger app. For Android phones, it'll be Messenger or Messages, unless you've downloaded a different app to handle your text messages.

The instructions should be relatively similar for most messaging apps on Android.

  2. Find the text message you wish to forward. It can either be a message you sent or it can be one sent to you. Once you've found it, tap and hold the text to bring up a list of options.

  3. An options menu will appear. Either tap the Forward option or tap the Forward icon, which resembles an arrow pointing to the right side of the screen.

  4. A new text message window will open that will automatically copy and paste the text you selected. You can edit the text before you send it, as it doesn't have to be sent as is.

  5. Tap the recipients' bar if it is not already selected, and a keyboard should appear for you to begin typing.

If you start typing a name or phone number of someone in your contacts list, your phone will suggest names of people to send it to; either select one from the list or continue typing their phone number. If you want to send it to multiple people, you can do so by entering multiple contacts.
