If You Forget Your Router's Password

One of the most frustrating problems in home networking is forgetting the password of your broadband router. Judging by how often I'm asked for solutions to this problem, it happens frequently.

Unfortunately, the only practical remedy requires resetting your router to its factory defaults (which sets the password to a specific name picked by the manufacturer). Details vary depending on the router model but typically involve pushing and holding down a reset button on the unit.

Consult the manufacturer's documentation for specifics.
