You might think that all the digital music in the Amazon Music Store comes at a price. However, the company offers a huge selection of free songs and albums that can be downloaded or streamed to your computer or mobile device.

How to Find Free Music Downloads on Amazon

The free content doesn't jump out at you on the main page of Amazon Music, but it's easy to find using the service's filtering options. To discover free digital music on Amazon:

  1. Go to the Amazon's Digital Music webpage.
  2. Click the large Deals button.
  3. In the left panel of the page that opens, click Free. The resulting page and the other hundred-plus pages like it all contain free music.
  4. Browse through the free entries or use the Sort by drop-down menu at the top of the screen to specify a song, artist, or album.
  5. Click on any song title to learn more about it, or click the arrow next to the song to hear a music preview.
  6. When you find a song you want to download, click on the Free button next to the song.
  7. After you click on the Free button, Amazon requests your email or phone number and password for your account. Type in your email address (or phone number for mobile accounts) and password and then click Sign in. If you don't have an Amazon account, click the Create your Amazon account button and follow the on-screen instructions to open a free account.
  8. On the Review Your Order screen, confirm that the subtotal is zero, and then click the Place Your Order button.
  9. Click the Play now button to stream the song from your Amazon music library or click the Download purchases button to download the song to your computer or device.

Tip: To save time when downloading multiple free songs or albums, click the Shopping Cart icon rather than the Free button, and then check out a single time.
