How to Find a Friend's Amazon Wish List

To request access to your friend's wish list at the Amazon website:

1. Hover over Accounts & Lists and select Find a List or Registry.

2. Select the Your Friends tab. Friends who shared their lists with you show up on this screen.

3. To request access to a friend's list, compose a note or use the one provided and then select Email this message. When your friend agrees to share their list, you'll see it in this section.

   If the email goes to a default email program you don't normally use, select Copy message. Then, paste the message into your email program, add the recipient's email address, and select Send.

How to Find an Amazon Wedding or Baby Registry

To locate a wedding or baby shower Amazon wish list and purchase items from it:

1. Hover over Accounts & Lists > Find a List or Registry. Select either Wedding Registry or Baby Registry from the menu bar.

2. Type your friend's name and select Search.

3. Select your friend's profile and view the list. To refine your search, use the search box provided on this page.

How to Purchase an Item From a Friend's Amazon Wish List or Registry

The value of these shared lists and registries is to ensure that the gift recipient receives what they need or want while eliminating duplicate gift-giving. To avoid duplication, shop from the list or the registry rather than using it as an ideas list that you fulfill from your account or through in-store purchasing at your local department store.

1. Choose a gift and select Add to Cart. Confirm your selection in the pop-up window by selecting Add to Cart again. Choose Proceed to Checkout.

2. Use the checkout feature like you normally would. If your friend associated a shipping address with the list or registry, select the address on the checkout page under Other addresses. Ship to this address only if you intend to have the gift delivered by Amazon.

   You can ship to your friend even if your friend didn't include an address on the list. If this is the case, enter the address yourself.

3. Select Gifting Options to add a message to the gift and remove price details from the receipt.

4. Confirm your payment information and select Place your order.

   If you're able to ship the package with the on-file shipping address, the item you purchaseis removed from their wish list when the order is complete. If you elect to have the gift shipped to you, it is not automatically removed from their list.

5. Your order is processed and shipped. You'll receive delivery updates about the package to your email, just as you would if you purchased an item for yourself. Your friend won't know about the package until it arrives.

   Some people use one generic list for their wishes and shopping. The owner of the list is free to purchase from the list. In those situations, Amazon suggests that someone might have purchased the item and will—if the person requests to know—reveal that the item was purchased.
