Additionally, each weapon has a unique way of working and conditions that when met will increase their attack power. This guide will lead you to each ultimate weapon and tell you exactly how each weapon works in Final Fantasy VII. Additionally, if the weapon is obtainable during a certain part of the game only, we’ll make sure you’re prepared to grab it at the earliest opportunity. Cloud Strife - Ultima Weapon When you can get it: Near the end of the game, just before you’re ready to enter the Northern Crater. How do I get it?: When you regain control of the Highwind, head to the crater east of Junon. There you’ll find Ultimate Weapon hovering in the air. Run into him to start a Boss Battle. Ultimate Weapon has 100,000 HP you’ll have to deplete to finally defeat him, but three times he’ll run from battle and you’ll have to relocate him on the World Map and continue the battle. Once you finally take him down, he’ll drop Cloud’s Ultimate Weapon, Ultima Weapon. How do I use it?: The fuller Cloud’s HP is, the higher Ultima Weapon’s attack power is. Aerith Gainsborough - Princess Guard When can I get it?: You must get it at the Temple of the Ancients, you’ll only have one chance. How do I get it?: When you reach the room with the clock, you’ll need to enter the door at the position marked “IIII.” Inside you’ll find a chest containing Aerith’s Ultimate Weapon, the Princess Guard. How do you use it?: The Princess Guard’s attack power doubles if a party member is KO’d. If both of Aerith’s fellow party members are KO’d, its attack power triples. Tifa Lockhart - Premium Heart When can I get it? Any time after you get the Highwind. How do I get it? After you gain control of the Highwind, you can return to Bone Village and excavate the “Key of Sector 6.” Once you have the item return to Midgar and enter the door there. Return to the Wall Market and go to the building with the ceiling-mounted Gatling gun. If you examine the terminal there, instead of the gun shooting at you like it did previously, the terminal will dispense Tifa’s Ultimate Weapon, Premium Heart. How do you use it?: Premium Heart’s attack power increases as Tifa’s limit gauge fills up. Barret Wallace - Missing Score When can I get it? You can only obtain this weapon during your return to Midgar to fight Hojo. If you miss it then it’s gone! How do I get it? Make sure Barret is in your party before you begin climbing the stairs to the Sister Ray cannon. As long as he’s in your party a chest with Missing Score in it will appear in plain view on the way to the top. How do I use it? The more AP the material slotted into the Missing Score has, the higher its attack power will be. It also does more damage when Barret is in the Back Row. Red XIII - Limited Moon When can I get it? Any time after the return to Midgar. How do I get it? After defeating Hojo on the Sister Ray, you can return to Cosmo Canyon to obtain Red XIII’s Ultimate Weapon. Once there, go to Bugenhagen’’s lab and speak to him and he’ll give you the Limited Moon. How do I use it? The Limited Moon’s attack power increases the higher Red XIII’s MP level goes and reaches full. Cait Sith - HP Shout When can I get it? You can only get this during your return to Midgar to fight Hojo. Make sure you get it then or it’s gone! How do I get it? On your way to the Sister Ray to fight Hojo, you have the option to return to the Shinra Building. On the 64th Floor check the lockers in the locker room and you’ll find the HP Shout. How do I use it? The higher Cait Sith’s current HP levels are, the more attack power HP Shout will have. Cid Highwind - Venus Gospel When can I get it?: Any time after the rocket is launched at Rocket Town. How do I get it?: After the Rocket is launched carrying the Huge Materia, and you make it back to land, you can find a male NPC standing in front of a house. Talk to him three times and he’ll hand over Cid’s Ultimate Weapon, Venus Gospel. How do I use it? The higher Cid’s current MP levels are, the more attack power Venus Gospel has. Yuffie Kisaragi - Conformer When can I get it?: After you obtain the submarine. How do I get it?: Once you have the submarine, you can explore the ocean depths. Locate the downed Shinra Plane and once inside find the room that looks like a laboratory. Inside, in a chest, is Yuffie’s Ultimate Weapon, the Conformer. How do I use it?: The Conformer gets an attack bonus based on the level of the enemy it’s targeting. Vincent Valentine - Death Penalty When can I get it?: After you get the submarine. How do I get it?: Once you get the submarine you can dive and find a cave that you can follow. When you reach the end of the passage, you can surface and enter Lucretia’s Cave. Watch the scene there with Vincent in your party, then leave for a while. Returning a bit later, you’ll find Vincent’s Ultimate Weapon, Death Penalty.
