Stay Alive During Night Time in Far Cry Primal

Night can be a scary time if you're not prepared.

Far Cry Primal is the latest game from Ubisoft and the latest addition to the Far Cry umbrella. It can be difficult to figure out how to stay afloat, especially when nightfall comes (much like Minecraft) but that's why you've got us to point you in the right direction. It's kind of like that old pop song about how when the lights go out, you'll be shown what "it" is all about. That song was more or less about kissing or whatever, but this article is about Far Cry Primal

Find a camp and stay there when possible

The best possible move you can make to be ready for night time is to find shelter or camp as soon as you're able. Base camps come with their own light, and you can hang out there to rest, sleep until morning or wait until night returns. That may not seem constructive, but you'll be able to rest up and heal yourself while waiting. Daytime is the best time to go out and either forage or explore, so obviously returning to that point is your best best. Make sure you're well-rested, have plenty of crafting supplies, and are ready to head out before you let it grow dark on you. If not, you're in for a world of hurt.

Enlist beasts to help you along the way

If you have to be out at night for some reason, you might want to see if you can get an animal to follow you around. You must have the Beast Master skill available to you, which you'll get if you complete Tensay the Shaman's mission, but after that you can tame animals to travel along with you so you're never alone again. You can even ride on an animal if you need to and take out smaller enemies and packs with relative ease. Just don't go crazy just because you've got animal friends on your side. You're still very vulnerable in the dark.

Make use of the materials you've got on you

Torches are your friend, and I mean that very sincerely. You need to have a club and a flame to create a lit torch that you can keep lighting with relative ease. You need a way out of the dark that's reliable. Not only will it help you see what's out there, but if you swing the torch you can scare off potential predators with it in the right situations. Smaller ones will back off, but you might still have trouble with the bigger animals out there. That's when you'll want to opt for daylight to come instead. That's always a good strategy, but sometimes it's more appropriate than others.

These tips should help you out on your way to mastering nights in Far Cry Primal. Before you know it, you'll be well on your way to finishing out the game in style, finding all the secrets.
