Conversation view is an option in Yahoo Mail that lets you group an entire email thread into one lump. It's really easy to disable or enable depending on your preference.

You can enable Conversation view if you like to keep everything in one place. A single entry is shown for all the replies and sent messages that correspond to an email. For example, if there's a back and forth of a dozen emails, all of the related messages will remain in one single thread that's easy to open, move, search through, or delete in just a few clicks.

Most people like Conversation view, which is why Yahoo Mail enables it by default. However, it can sometimes be confusing to sift through a bundle of emails to find one specific message. You can disable Conversation view in the settings if you don't like that way of reading emails and if you prefer for everything to be separate and listed as individual messages.

Directions

  1. Click the Settings Menu icon at the top right corner of Yahoo Mail. It's the one that looks like a gear.
  2. Choose More Settings at the very bottom of that menu.
  3. Open Viewing email on the left side of the page.
  4. Click the slider bubble next to Group by conversation. It's blue when enabled and white when disabled.

If you're using the Yahoo Mail mobile app, toggling the Conversations feature on or off is a little different.

  1. Tap the menu icon to see more options.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Swipe Conversations to the right to turn Conversation view on, or to the left to turn it off.
