The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Vampire FAQ

The guide to vampirism and the cure to vampirism in Oblivion

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Bethesda Softworks

Most gamers who play Oblivion know how large and vast the game play can be. They also know some of the little surprises hidden within the game. It wasn't until recently that I discovered an affliction, my character was gaining new powers, he was being killed by the sunlight — he was becoming a vampire!

Vampirism in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has many benefits, as well as some drawbacks. I didn't know a lot about the whole Vampire aspect of Oblivion, so I, like many other Oblivion players sought it out. Turns out that Josh Warren had already done all the hard work for me and has written a very useful Oblivion Vampire FAQ.

Oblivion Vampire FAQ

If you want to cure vampirism in Oblivion on PC quickly using the cheat console, the process is easier than it may seem.

If you want to become a vampire, or are becoming a vampire and want to stop it, I highly recommend reading Josh's Oblivion Vampire FAQ. It details the many benefits of being a vampire, as well as the potential drawbacks to some gamers. While vampires have some really cool abilities, the one thing that kept me from remaining one was all of the night travel. Even though there are ways around that as well, I just didn't like playing almost exclusively at night.

Perhaps you are different though, read the full Oblivion Vampire FAQ for all of the details.

Here is what the Vampire FAQ covers:

  • Becoming a vampire
  • Surviving as a vampire
  • Advantages of being a vampire
  • Disadvantages of being a vampire
  • Vampire Powers
  • Vampirism Cure
  • Hints
  • Known Bugs
