It's easy to download YouTube videos on Android and save the videos for offline use so that you can watch YouTube without a Wi-Fi or a data connection, such as when you're on a plane or in an area with poor connectivity. Using the official YouTube app is one way to download YouTube movies, music videos, and other content, which will save the content as EXO files. While this may work for you, there are also free YouTube video downloaders you can try out.

The information below should apply no matter who made your Android phone: Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc. See How to Download YouTube Videos to Your iPhone if you use an iPhone.

YouTube Premium

If you have a YouTube Premium subscription, download YouTube videos from the official YouTube app. This requires a paid subscription, but there is a trial and it comes with other features beyond the ability to save videos.

To save a video from YouTube to your Android, select Download below the video, then choose from the list of available options, such as 720p or 360p.
