Can You Watch Disney Plus on Nintendo Switch? No, But Here's Where You Can

Compatible streaming devices include PlayStation and Xbox

Disney Plus on Switch might seem like a match made in heaven, but there isn't a Disney Plus app for Nintendo. Fortunately, you can still watch Disney Plus, on a device other than the Nintendo Switch.

What Streaming Devices Support Disney Plus?

Even though you can't use your Nintendo Switch to stream your favorite shows and movies from Disney Plus, there are plenty of options for streaming devices that do support it. It's very likely that you already own one of these devices, so you don't even need to buy anything extra to be able to enjoy Disney Plus.

Android and iOS

Both Android and iOS smartphones and tablets support Disney Plus via apps available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. If you haven't downloaded an app before, refer to our guides on using the App Store and Google Play Store to learn how.

Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku

If you own a 4th generation or newer Apple TV, you can also download the Disney Plus app and watch directly on your TV. If you own a streaming device like a Roku or Amazon Fire TV stick or box, both devices also offer Disney Plus apps so you can easily stream your favorite episode of The Simpsons to your TV.

PlayStation and Xbox

Own more than one game console? While you wait for the Nintendo Switch to have a Disney Plus app, you can use your PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S to watch Disney Plus. Head to their respective online stores to download the app, and you can be watching within seconds.

Smart TVs

Some smart TVs also offer their own Disney Plus app built-in or available through their app store. Some Smart TV brands that can stream Disney Plus include:

  • All Android-based TVs, including Sony
  • Hisense
  • LG
  • Philips
  • Samsung
  • TCL

Web Browsers

If you still don't own any of these compatible devices, you can always watch Disney Plus from your web browser by going to disneyplus.com. It's not quite as comfortable as watching on a TV, though, so we recommend connecting your computer to your TV if this is the only option.

What Can I Watch on My Nintendo Switch?

Desperate to watch some streaming content on your Nintendo Switch while you wait for Disney Plus? The Nintendo Switch doesn't even offer Netflix at this time, but there are options.

It's possible to download both YouTube and Hulu from the Nintendo eShop. YouTube is an excellent resource for family-friendly content, including some Disney trailers and clips, and gaming content. It's entirely free too. Hulu is a subscription-based service and offers many different shows and movies, both family-friendly and more adult-orientated.
