How to Direct Replies to a Special Address in Outlook

If you compose the email, you shouldn't have to deal with the replies as well, should you? A message from the manager's address, but replies sent to her assistant automatically?

In Outlook, you can specify a special Reply-To: address (to which most email programs will address responses) for each email you send.

Instructions in this article apply to Outlook 2019, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2010, and Outlook for Office 365.

How to Direct Replies to a Special Address in Outlook

To have replies to an email you send go to an address different from the one used to send the message in Outlook:

  1. Create a new email message.

  2. Select the Options tab of the ribbon on the message window.

  3. Select Direct Replies To under More Options.

  4. Enter the email address where you want to receive replies under Have replies sent to: (and make sure the option is selected).

  5. Select Close to apply the reply-to email address and close the window.
