Denon AVR-X1200W and AVR-X2200W In-Command Receivers

As a follow-up to their recently announced S-Series Home Theater Receivers, Denon has revealed two new X-Series IN-Command receivers for the 2015/16 model year, the AVR-X1200W and AVR-X2200W

AVR-X1200W and AVR-X2200W Common Features

Both receivers incorporate up to a 7.2 channel speaker/subwoofer configuration, as well as built-in HDMI 2.0a inputs, WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplay, and Hi-Res audio compatibility (Including DSD, AIFF (DSD/AIFF content access available via USB and Network only), ALAC and Flac).

Also, both receivers have Apple AirPlay and Direct USB connection for iPod/iPhone/iPad. Network and Internet streaming access is provide fo Internet Radio, (vTuner) and music services (Spotify), as well as DLNA supported audio and photo streaming from network connected devices (such as PCs and NAS drives).

In terms of surround sound audio, Denon provides all of the Dolby and DTS audio decoding/processing you would expect in this class, but has also added Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Decoding with DTS Neural:X upmixer capability on both receivers (DTS:X and Neural Upmixer will be added via firmware update),

Additional audio features on both X-Series receive include a convenient horizontal color-coded speaker connection layout, Audio Return Channel, and Zone 2 operation.

Video capabilities on both receivers include 3D, 4K (up to 60Hz), expanded Color Gamut (BT.2020/Rec.2020) and HDR (High Dynamic Range) pass through.

To fine tune your speakers and audio performance to your room, both receivers also provide Audyssey MultEQ, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.

Both receivers can also be integrated with Denon's HEOS multi-room audio system via HEOS Link.

AVR-X2200W - Additional Features

The AVR-X2200w has all of the capabilities of the AVR-X1200W, but taking it up a notch further, provides additional upgrades, starting with a total of 8 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs (the AVR-X1200W has 6 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output).

Also, the AVR-X2200W provides both powered and line outputs for 2nd Zone operation for audio, as well as a parallel HDMI Zone 2 audio/video output (Both HDMI outputs send the same audio/video signal).

In addition to 3D and 4K pass-through, the AVR-X2200W also provides both 1080p and 4K upscaling as well as ISF certification settings.

For added control flexibility (both receivers come with a remote and are compatible with Denon's free downloadable app, from an iOS or Android phone). However, the AVR-X2200W also provides a wired IR sensor input and output, as well as an RS-232C terminal. These additional options provide practical options for integration into a custom-controlled home theater setup.
