Denon Adds Two Home Theater Receivers To 2015 S-Series Line

Following up its previous release of the entry-level AVR-S510BT home theater receiver, Denon has now announced that it adding tow more entries into the S-Series line-up for 2015. The additions include the AVR-S710W and the AVR-S910W.

The Denon AVR-S710W and 910W share the following features:

- Built-in Dolby Atmos Decoding and DTS:X Audio Decoding with a forthcoming Firmware update.

- Up to a 7.2 channel speaker configuration (5.1.2 for Dolby Atmos).

- Audyssey MultEQ automatic speaker setup (microphone and stand included).

- Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.

- HDMI 2.0a HDR (High Dynamic Range) and expanded Color Gamut (BT.2020/Rec.2020) compatible inputs with HDCP 2.2 Copy-Protection. 4K and 3D Pass-Through also provided via HDMI.

- Front Panel USB input for connection of compatible USB devices, including iPods and iPhones.

- Built-in Bluetooth for direct wireless streaming from compatible portable devices, such as smartphones and tablets.

- Built-in Apple Airplay for direct streaming from compatible Apple devices.

- Built-in Ethernet and Wifi for access to DLNA compatible devices, as well as Internet Radio and other compatible streaming services (Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM).

- Built-in AM/FM radio (for those that still listen to standard radio broadcasts).

- Hi-Res Audio compatible via local network and compatible USB devices.

- Powered Zone 2 capability.

- Easy-to-connect horizontal color-coded speaker connection layout (check out photo attached to this article - more manufacturers should adopt this speaker connection arrangement).

- Compatibility with Denon's HEOS multi-room audio system via HEOS Link.

The Denon AVR-S910W also offers the following enhancements:

- 8 HDMI inputs and 2 parallel HDMI outputs (the AVR-S710W has 6 HDMI input and 1 output).

- Analog to HDMI Video Conversion, as well as up to 4K video upscaling.

- Two sets of component video inputs and one set of component video outputs (the AVR-S710 does not have component video connections).
