How to Cancel Your Venmo Account Follow the instructions below if you no longer wish to maintain an active Venmo account: Venmo accounts can only be canceled from a laptop or desktop computer, not from a smartphone or tablet (not even from a mobile web browser). Navigate to the Venmo home page in any major web browser and sign in to your account. You should now see your recent transactions, along with the rest of the main Venmo interface. Click Settings, located in the upper right-hand corner. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Close my Venmo Account link. A message appears telling you to review and download your most recent statement before closing your account. Click on the Next button. After you receive your most recent Venmo statement, click Next. A warning appears asking you if you're sure you want to close your Venmo account. Click on the Close Account button to complete the process, or click on Cancel to exit if you've changed your mind.
