Uber is one of the most popular ridesharing services around, but it's not for everyone. Uber has had its share of controversies. Some people take issue with its privacy policies or surge pricing, while others are simply wary of having their data readily accessible.

For whatever reason, if you want to cut ties with Uber and delete your account, it's a simple process that takes only a few minutes. Here's how to delete your Uber account from a smartphone or desktop, as well as how to remove the app from your device.

These instructions should apply whether you are deleting your Uber account from an iPhone or an Android smartphone.
