Turn individual PowerPoint slides or entire decks into image files

Create beautiful picture from your PowerPoint presentation in a few easy clicks.

Once you have created a PowerPoint presentation, you may wish to turn parts or all of the document into pictures. This is easily done when you use the Save As... command. Follow these 3 tips to create awesome PowerPoint images.

Save PowerPoint Slides As JPG, GIF, PNG or Other Picture Formats

To save PowerPoint Slides as images, choose an image file format.

Save the presentation as a PowerPoint presentation file, just as you normally would. This will ensure that your presentation is always editable.

  1. Navigate to the slide that you wish to save as a picture. Then:
    • In PowerPoint 2016, choose File > Save As.
    • In PowerPoint 2010, choose File > Save As.
    • In PowerPoint 2007, click Office button > Save As.
    • In PowerPoint 2003 (and earlier), choose File > Save As.
  2. Add a file name in the File name: text box
  3. From the Save as type: drop-down list, choose the picture format for this picture.
  4. Click the Save button.

Note: The PowerPoint version available as part of Office 365 works in the same way as the versions mentioned above.

Save Current Slide or All Slides as Pictures

You can save one or all of your PowerPoint slides as images.

Once you've selected your save options, you'll be prompted to specify whether you want to export the Current Slide or All Slides in the presentation as pictures.

Choose the appropriate option.

Save All Slides or a Single PowerPoint Slide as a Picture

PowerPoint saves slides as single images or a folder if converting a whole deck.

Saving One Slide as a Picture

If you choose to save only the slide you're currently viewing, PowerPoint will save the slide as picture in the chosen format using the current presentation filename as the picture filename, or you can choose to give the picture slide a new filename.

Saving All Slides as Pictures

If you choose to save all the slide in the presentation as picture files, PowerPoint will create a new folder using the presentation filename for the folder name (you may opt to change this folder name), and add all the image files to the folder. Each picture will be named Slide 1, Slide 2 and so on.
