How to Create a Mailing List in Yahoo Mail

Group contacts into mailing lists to simplify emailing them

The simplicity of sending the same message to more than one recipient is one of email's biggest assets. In Yahoo Mail, you can make distributing emails even easier by creating a mailing list.

Create a Mailing List in Yahoo Mail

To set up a list for group mailing in Yahoo Mail, do the following:

  1. Select Contacts at the top right of the Yahoo Mail's navigation bar.

  2. Select Lists

  3. Select Create list in the pane below Lists.

  4. Type the desired List name for the list.

  5. You can either enter contacts in the Add contacts field, or select Save. For this tutorial, Save has been selected.

Add Members to a Yahoo Mail List

To add members to the list you just created:

  1. Select Contacts on the right side.

  2. Select Lists.

  3. Select Edit next to the list you just created.

  4. Start adding contacts in the Add contacts field by either entering their name or email address. Select the name that appears to add.

  5. Repeat this process until you have all the email addresses you need.

  6. Select Save to save your new list.

Send Mail to Your Yahoo Mail List

And now that you have a mailing list set up in Yahoo Mail, you can start using it:

  1. Select Compose at the top left of the Yahoo Mail webpage.

  2. In the To (or CC/BCC fields, if used), begin entering in the name of your newly created mailing list. It should pop up when you do start typing. Select it when it does.

  3. Now Compose a new email and enter the name of your new List. You should see it pop up as you enter the name. Select it and continue composing your email and send it.

The handy thing about using mailing lists is that you can have as many lists as you want for any occasion. It not only makes emailing multiple people faster, but more organized as well.
