How to Create Email Stationery Easily in Outlook Express

Create a new message in Outlook Express

Type the name you desire for your new stationery

  • Type the name you desire for your new stationery under File name: (you need not be concerned with file extensions; just type the name of your template as you want it to appear).
    • Outlook Express has taken you to your default stationery folder automatically. You can choose any other folder as well, if you so desire.
  • Click Save.
    • If you have not used a background image, Outlook Express will ask you whether you want to create a stationery that will appear blank. Just go ahead and click Yes. Outlook Express knows why it is asking, but we know what we are doing, too.

Click on the stationery you just created with the right mouse button

Go back to Outlook Express

Go to the "Source" tab

  • Go to the Source tab.
  • Highlight everything, again, between and including the "<BODY>" and "</BODY>" tags.
    • If the "<BODY>" tag at the beginning has additional attributes such as "bgColor=" in it, that's okay.
  • Select Edit | Copy from the menu.
