You can create a backup copy of your blocked senders in Windows Live Mail; use this to copy that list, too.

Backing Up and Transferring Your Blocked Senders

When you block some senders in Outlook Express, most people mean to block them forever. You want to keep your list of blocked senders if you reinstall Windows, and you want to carry it to a new computer (and a new Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express), too. Fortunately, it's fairly easy to back up the list of blocked senders in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail and Outlook Express.

To create a copy of your Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail blocked senders list for backup or copying:

To back up or copy your list of blocked senders in Outlook Express:

  • Go to your Outlook Express settings in the Windows registry.
  • Click on the Blocked Senders key.
  • Select Registry | Export Registry File from the menu.
  • Change the location to the directory where you want to keep the backup copy of your Outlook Express blocked senders list.
  • Type "Blocked Senders.reg" in the File Name box.
  • Click Save.
