How to Connect Your iPad to Facebook

Do you need a quicker way to update Facebook? If you connect your Facebook account with your iPad, you can use Siri to update your timeline. This makes a great way to quickly send a message to your friends without stopping to type it in on your iPad. This also makes it easier to share photos and videos. You can even 'like' iPad apps.

But first, you'll need to set up Facebook on your iPad. Here are the quick-and-easy steps to integrating Facebook:

  1. Go into your iPad's settings. The icon for settings looks like gears turning.
  2. Scroll down the left-side menu until you locate "Facebook" and tap on it.
  3. In the Facebook settings, you will be able to input your username and password. Tap "Sign In" when you are done.
  4. You will be prompted with a message telling you how this will change your iPad experience, such as contact information using Facebook to keep up-to-date with status changes, Facebook events appearing in your iPad calendar, etc.
  5. If you don't have the official Facebook app installed, you will be prompted to install it.  If you would rather use a third-party Facebook client, you can also decline the official app.  You won't need the official app to share your status through Siri or share pictures after you've connected your iPad to Facebook in settings.
  6. If you don't want Facebook events to show up on your iPad's calendar, you can turn the feature off after you sign in to your account. Just tap the on/off switch next to Calendars.
  1. Should you "Update All Contacts"? This new option appears after you sign in to Facebook. If you tap the button, it will search Facebook for people in your Contacts list and update information about them, including putting their profile pictures in your contacts list. This is a pretty nice feature for most and can make it easier to use FaceTime on your iPad.
