A cookie is a small file used to store information on your device at the direction of a specific website. Cookies store your account information for a website, which is why you don't have to log in every time you visit Amazon or Netflix. However, cookies can also track you across the web and may cause problems with your web browser, which is why you may want to delete cookies on your iPhone.

Clear Browsing History and Clear Cookies on Your iPhone

You have a few options for deleting cookies from the default Safari web browser on your iPhone. You can delete your web history and cookies at the same time, delete only the cookies, or delete the cookies for a specific website.

To delete all website data including your browser history from Safari on the iPhone:

  1. Open the iPhone's Settings app, scroll to the Settings screen, and choose Safari.

  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.

  3. When prompted to confirm your choice, choose Clear History and Data to delete the log of websites you visited and the cookies stored for the Safari browser.

Clearing history and data doesn't change your AutoFill information.
