How to Change Your Mixer Name

Change up your avatar and name on Mixer

Choosing a memorable username is vital to building a following on Mixer. If the name you initially picked for your game streaming channel is no longer a good fit, here's how to change your Mixer name and avatar.

Can You Change Your Mixer Name?

Before you start streaming gameplay on Mixer, you must choose a display name, which you can later change from your account settings on the Mixer website. After you change your name, Mixer automatically redirects other users to the new name and URL of your streams without any extra work on your part.

While your Mixer account and Microsoft account are linked, changing your username on one platform doesn't affect the other. If you want matching names, you'll have to hope that nobody else is registered with the username you want.

You can only change your Mixer account name once every 30 days.

If you plan to use a photo for your avatar, choose a picture that is easy to see and fairly close up since your avatar appears as a small icon most of the time.
