This means that while you may initially pick one name, it might not be the right fit in the long run. How to Change Your Mixer Username Changing your display name on Mixer is an easy process and you can do it directly from your account settings on the website. After you have changed your name, Mixer will automatically send people to the new name and url of your streams without any extra work on your part. While your Mixer account and Microsoft account are linked, changing your username on one platform doesn't affect the other. This means that if you want to have matching names, you'll have to hope that nobody else is registered with the username you want. Just keep in mind that you can only change your account name once every 30 days. Open Mixer. Select the user icon in the upper right corner. Depending on your screen resolution, you may need to maximize your window or scroll to see your user icon. Select Account. This is where all of your Mixer account settings — like your username, and linked accounts — is located. Type in a new username in the corresponding box. If you come up with a better username you can change it once every 30 days! Select Change Username. How to Change Your Avatar Your avatar on Mixer is how other users will see you when you're watching other streams, or they navigate to your channel when you aren't actively broadcasting. You can change your avatar at any time from within the customize section of the Broadcast Dashboard. Aim for a photo that is easy to see and fairly close up, especially since your avatar is only a small bubble most of the time. Consider it your Mixer profile picture and choose accordingly. Open Mixer. Select your user icon in the upper right corner. You may need to maximize your window, or scroll to the right to find your icon depending on your screen size. Select Broadcast Dashboard. Select Customize. Select the Avatar image. Select the photo you want to use as an Avatar. Your Avatar should be between 256x256 pixels and 512x512 pixels for the best quality. Additionally, it needs to be a smaller file size, so you may want to use a .png instead of a .jpg file. Select Open. Crop or adjust your image. Select Upload.
