Question: Can Android Play Flash?

Steve Jobs made a big deal about refusing to allow Adobe Flash to run on iPhones an iPods. Can Flash run on Google's phone OS, Android?

The answer used to be yes.  An Android version of Adobe Flash is available for phones that run Android 2.2 (Froyo) and higher. Some earlier phones can also play limited Flash content through the Skyfire browser.

Skyfire actually plays the video through a proxy server, so it isn't true Flash playback.

Not all Android phones run Android 2.2 or are able to upgrade, so you may have to comparison shop if you're in the market for a new phone, and you may be out of luck until you're eligible for your next upgrade.

As of Android Jelly Bean, the answer is no. Adobe stopped all support of Flash on mobile devices.
