Boox has three new e-ink devices for people who prefer to use minimalist tablets to stay focused when working or reading.

E-ink devices are great for working in flow without the distractions that you might experience when using a regular computer or tablet, and now Boox is adding new, more advanced products to its lineup.

In a press release sent to Lifewire, the company announced the addition of three new devices to its lineup. The Boox Note Air 4C is the successor to the Boox Note Air 3C, a color e-ink tablet designed for note-taking, sketching, and reading. The Note Max is a larger, black-and-white e-ink tablet. The Boox Palma 2 is a palm-sized e-reader following the Boox Palma, which has gained popularity since its release in 2023.

Onyx Boox

The Boox Note Air 4C got some nice upgrades over its predecessor, including an upgrade to Android 13. The 10.3-inch tablet has an upgraded Kaleido 3 color e-ink screen and an advanced Octa-core processor and has been updated to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Boox claims the upgrades equate to a "50 percent performance boost." The new Note Air 4C is available now for $500.

The Boox Note Max is a new addition to the Boox tablet lineup. It's an A4-sized (13.3-inch) monochrome e-ink device. It has a Carta 1300 e-ink display, 6GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. This beast also sports a 2.8GHz Octa-core processor, so it can handle split-screen work like a pro. Of course, it benefits from the upgraded AI capabilities that the Note Air 4C also has, including text recognition, scribble erase, and lasso recognition. The Note Max is not yet available to order, with the website only promising that it's "coming soon," but the price is listed at $650.

The Boox Palma 2 is also an improvement over the previous version, with the Android 13 upgrade (including access to the Google Play Store), a faster Octa-core processor, and a fingerprint reader for additional privacy. Palma 2 also benefits from a 300 PPI Carta 1200 e-ink screen, 6GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and a 16MP camera (designed for scanning documents). It is available to preorder now and will cost $280.

Boox has also updated the firmware on all the devices, providing additional features like a new table of contents in Notes, enhanced PDF tools, multilingual typography, and more.
