Restaurants and food chains are now waking up to the true potential of mobile and the importance of developing strategies to promote themselves and reach more customers via this channel. The latest to join the bandwagon is the well-known build-your-own pizza chain, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza. This establishment now offers a new mobile application, which combines payments with loyalty.

Aiming to drive more sales and emerge the next big player in mobile commerce via its new app, this pizza chain enables customers to order, pay for its products and earn rewards, directly from within its platform.

Giants such as Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, Burger King and so on, have already adapted to the current mobile milieu. Obviously, Blaze does not want to be left behind and seeks to stay abreast of the latest technological developments.

Jerry Shen, senior marketing manager, Blaze Pizza, had this to say about the company’s latest move: “Blaze’s app is a key part of the company’s digital technology infrastructure. Beyond the loyalty element, the app also provides an easy way to locate the nearest Blaze Pizza restaurant, and offers an online order history to quickly re-order favorites. A Nutrition Calculator even allows guests to build their own ‘virtual’ pizzas before they order, providing full transparency into calories and nutritionals.”

How Blaze’s Mobile App Works

Each time customers place orders and make purchases via the new mobile rewards app, they earn loyalty points, known as flames.

As always, they can customize their own pizzas and then pay for them via the mobile platform

Regular customers get to receive a free pizza for every 10 flames they earn. In order to redeem their coupon for a free pizza or other rewards, customers need to click on the promotions field within the app.

Promotions can be accessed from the My Rewards tab of the app. They should present their smartphone to a Blaze employee, who will then scan the coupon code and fulfill the offer.

The app additionally lets users locate a Blaze outlet from within the app, using their smartphone’s GPS system. For faster reordering, users can also view and track past ordering history.

Mr. Shen stated, “Having a robust and intuitive mobile app is something we felt was authentic to the Blaze brand, and a piece of technology our passionate social media fan base has been asking for. We have landed on an app that is easy to use, and enables our guests to ‘fire it up’ while on the go.”
