OVERPOWERED Gaming Laptop 15+

The Overpowered 15+ is Walmart’s attempt at producing its own line of gaming-specific laptops. Although some may be skeptical of the retailer getting into the production of gaming laptops (as opposed to an experienced manufacturer or gaming company), its Overpowered line has some decent specs.

The 15+ comes with a 15.6-inch 144Hz screen. It’s big enough to give you a great picture, but not large enough that the laptop is too clunky to take on the go. Graphics-wise, the laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB VRAM, and an Intel i7-8750H CPU with 2.20 GHz speed — plenty enough processing power for heavy gaming.

Walmart’s Overpowered line runs Windows 10 and has plenty of ports. The 15+ has one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, and even a USB-C port. Plus, it has one SD card slot and an HDMI slot. With 16 GB of RAM and 2TB hard drive capacity, it’s obvious that Walmart wanted this to be able to handle intense gaming, but at a Walmart price.

Best for Virtual Reality: OVERPOWERED Gaming Laptop 17+

OVERPOWERED Gaming Laptop 17+

The Overpowered 17+ is the larger model in Walmart’s line of gaming laptops. With a huge 17.3-inch 144Hz Screen and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB VRAM, graphics will look good. The computer comes with a mechanical LED keyboard, 2TB of hard drive storage, one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, and one USB-C port.

With an impressive Intel i7-8750H CPU with 2.20 GHz speed, the 17+ will give you speed. But where it stands out from other Overpowered models is its memory. The 17+ comes outfitted with a whopping 32GB of RAM, which is double what you would find in the Overpowered 15+ model.

Walmart even says the 17+ is ready to handle virtual reality, putting it on par with some of the most powerful PCs on the market. Paired with an HTC Vibe or an Oculus headset, the 17+ is powerful enough to work with VR games. If you use a VR headset with a PC that doesn’t have enough power, it can cause motion sickness. With the 17+, that shouldn’t happen.

The bottom line: if you want to be at the forefront of immersive VR gaming, consider Walmart’s Overpowered 17+.
