Best Case for iPhone X/XS: Mujjo Full Leather iPhone X

Widely praised as one of the best leather case options for the iPhone, the Mujjo leather case fully wraps the phone and has a slim profile that follows the unique contours of the device to form a perfect fit. There's also a microfiber-lined interior for helping the rear of the iPhone avoid scratches from regular wear and tear inside the case. The full-grain, vegetable-tanned natural leather is soft, adapts to touch over time and acquires its own unique patina that helps result in a more traditional leather look over time. The Mujjo edges rise 1mm above the glass to form a protective bezel while allowing easy access to the lightning port at the base of the device.

Best Wallet Case for iPhone X/XS: Dockem Exec iPhone X Card Case

Offering a combination of vintage style with traditional function, the Dockem Exec card case hits all the right notes with a budget-friendly price tag. The two different card slots for your most important credit or ID cards don't hinder the slim form factor of the Exec. The interior of the device is composed of a DuraFlex inner shell that is shock-resistant and is easy to snap on and off for quick cleaning or transitioning into a workout case or sleeve. The premium synthetic leather looks good in both a casual environment, as well as in the boardroom. At 14mm thin, it is still compatible with wireless charging after removing any stored credit or ID cards.

Best Case for iPhone XR: Jisoncase Leather Case iPhone XR

Jisoncase may be a lesser known brand, but they still produce some of the best cases for the iPhone XR. The outside is covered in genuine leather, highlighting the iPhone’s sleek profile remaining thin enough that your phone will still work with wireless chargers. The interior, on the other hand, is made from soft microfiber that protects your device from scratches and other abrasions. Additionally, the Jisoncase has precise cutouts around the phone’s open ports and camera lenses, as well as responsive covers over the lock screen and volume buttons.

The Jisoncase’s leather exterior is durable yet flexible, offering a fair amount of air permeability and heat dissipation. The case offers five different color options, including three wallet-folio styles. Additionally, if you don’t have an XR, Jisoncase also offers leather cases for the iPhone XS and XS Max.

Best Budget Case for iPhone XR: Dockem Virtuosa M1

Leather doesn’t always have to be a luxurious purchase. You can still find an elegant leather case at a steal-worthy price. The Dockem Virtuosa XR case is made with minimally processed, genuine leather, which shows off the natural grain. The material is remarkably soft but sturdy enough for long-term use. The case is only 11mm thick and includes a back pocket that comfortably fits two cards. It’s also compatible with wireless charging, although you should remove your credit cards beforehand.

Underneath its leather exterior, the Dockem Virtuosa contains a small metal plate in the top portion of the case that makes it compatible with magnetic car mounts, without interfering with its wireless charging capabilities. However, Dockem recommends its own Magno Mount v3 series, due to its extra-strong magnetic surface. The Dockem Virtuosa looks more expensive than it actually is, which is a major point in its favor. Just make sure to take good care of it, as the case’s leather surface is prone to scratch marks.

Best Wallet Case for iPhone XR: SnakeHive iPhone XR Case

The SnakeHive iPhone XR case is one of the best-looking cases we’ve seen this year. It's made with Nubuck leather, which has a soft, velvety texture, and the rich color only deepens with age to give your case a unique patina over time. Inside, the SnakeHive has a soft, scratch-proof layer to protect your screen, as well as a shock-absorbent TPU rubber core. The whole thing is hand stitched in the UK and measures 0.9 inches thick and weighs 4.8 ounces.

In addition to style and protection, the SnakeHive case offers plenty of storage space, with three card slots and one larger slot for folded-up cash. The leather cover also allows for easy access to the charging port and camera lens, even when the case is closed. The cover also doubles as a handy kickstand, so you can prop your phone up in landscape mode when watching videos.

Best Case for iPhone XS Max: Case-Mate Barely-There iPhone XS Max Case

The Barely-There iPhone case for the XS Max lives up to its name, measuring only 2mm thick. But the Case-Mate still offers a decent amount of protection and is still compatible with wireless chargers. It’s made from premium leather with brushed microfiber on the inside to protect against scratches and abrasions. Its raised edges also offer a little extra protection for your phone screen.

The Case-Mate feels like it is “barely there,” but its premium leather exterior is an eye-catcher. The slim design accentuates the iPhone’s profile, and the leather case comes in four lovely colors: black, butterscotch, cardinal red, and metallic blush.

Best Budget Case for iPhone XS Max: Toplive Leather Wallet Case

Our favorite aspect of this case has to be its functionality. This wallet-folio comes with ample storage space, with one outside pocket and four interior slots for cash and cards. Additionally, it holds a built-in kickstand and a clip-on earbud pouch.

Judging solely off the quality of the leather itself, the Toplive case is soft and durable but ultimately made with cheaper materials. Underneath the leather exterior, the case contains a sturdy polycarbonate shell with a flexible TPU interior, to protect against drops and scratches. Also, the case is only 0.8 inches thick and is compatible with wireless charging.

The limited storage space prevents the Toplive case from snagging the title of Best Wallet, and the material is a bit cheap to win Best Overall. Nevertheless, this case is a great value, offering durability and style at a reasonable price. The Toplive comes in three colors: tan, red, and purple.

Best Wallet Case for iPhone XS Max: Pad & Quill Bella Fino Leather Case

The price tag may give you pause, but Pad & Quill’s standards for fine leather are worth the investment. The Bella Fino iPhone case is made with full-grain American leather, providing a luxurious texture and a rich patina that ages beautifully. Pad & Quill offers three exterior colors (black, brown, and tan) and four interior shades (deep blue, white, sea-green, and gray) so you can match your case to your unique style.

However, the Bella Fino is more than just a pretty face; the leather material is highly durable and woven with marine-grade, UV-resistant nylon stitching. The cover is only 0.28-inches thick on either side, so you can still use a wireless charger without removing the case. Additionally, the Bella Fino has plenty of storage, with four card slots, a larger pocket to store cash, and a clear plastic card slot for your ID. The case is also backed by a 25-year warranty, ensuring that this is the last phone case (or wallet) you’ll ever need to buy.

Best Case for iPhone 7/8: Apple iPhone 7/8 Leather Case

This iPhone 7 or 8 Apple iPhone leather case is designed with a sleek style and comes in nine colors, including taupe, midnight blue, charcoal gray and more. The classic case tightly fits over the curves of the iPhone and adds minimal bulk and is also on our list for one of the best iPhone X cases. Manufactured out of a specially tanned and finished European leather, the outside of the case develops a natural patina over time, but always feels soft to the touch. On the side of the case are machined aluminum buttons that match the finish of the case. Buyers looking for the perfect leather case should take note that Apple's own option is designed specifically to function well with wireless charging, which is a big perk of purchasing the iPhone 8.

Best Wallet Case for iPhone 7/8: Twelve South BookBook for iPhone 7/8 Plus

One of the best-known names in Apple accessory quality, the Twelve South BookBook for the iPhone 7 and 8 Plus has long been lauded for its three-in-one design that offers both protection and function. With four interior slots to store credit cards, an ID and a little bit of cash, the case offers a slide-out shell that snaps onto the device, so you can separate the phone from the wallet and safely secure the wallet to leave it in a locker while at the gym.

The real highlight of the BookBook is its built-in, hands-free viewing stand that makes it incredibly easy to set up the phone and go hands-free for FaceTime calls, watching movies or shows or to use with the camera's self-timer to take photos. Keeping the phone secure is the six-sided cover that's constructed out of hand-made, genuine leather, while an interior fabric lining helps prevent stretching or pilling.
