CES 2021 has arrived and a lot of major manufacturers are taking advantage of the increased buzz to roll out some of the best laptop deals we've seen in months.

What should you prioritize when shopping for a new portable machine? Your top consideration should be what hardware is most important for your needs. For a home office hub, you'll want lots of storage and a capable CPU to handle multitasking, though you can likely spend less than if you're looking for a dedicated gaming machine. In that case, you'll want a powerful dedicated GPU, and your choice of display is significantly more important (as is the inclusion of an SSD drive to stash your games on, so you'll spend less time staring at loading screens and more time in-game).

If you're looking for a GPU for a desktop machine, bop on over to our Best Cheap Graphics Card Deals roundup. If you want something even more portable than a notebook, consider our list of the Best iPhone Deals happening now.

HP currently has a Cyber Week promotion happening on their online store, with some amazing deals on laptops and peripherals. The savings on the Envy 17-inch notebooks are easily some of the best, with optional touchscreens, 10th Gen chips from Intel, a range of GPU options from Iris Xe to discreet Nvidia cards, and some excellent storage options, many of which combine capacious traditional hard drives with lightning-quick SSDs for the best of both worlds.

In his review, Jonno praised the Envy 17t for its "ample screen real estate and attractive grouping of specs across the board, all for a fairly reasonable price." Shaving another several hundred dollars off retail makes the Envy an even more attractive proposition, and the huge number of configuration options means you're almost certain to find something well-tailored to your specific use case.
