Paint My Wall is simplistic and easy to use. The app allows you to use their image to explore color options or upload your own image to test. Paint with your finger or use the smart fill to fill a wall completely.

What We Like:

  • It's quick and easy to test various color options with just the touch of a button.

What We Don't Like:

  • There are ads after a few color tests you must skip to move on.

Sherwin Williams/Apple 

This app not only allows you to explore all of Sherwin Williams' paint colors, ColorSnap also gives you the ability to create your own color palette. Choose a color you like and see coordinating colors and similar colors to take it to the next level. 

See the color you chose in living rooms, kitchens, and more, then take your app with you to a store to pick up your paint.

What We Like:

  • This is a one and done app for choosing paint and getting started on your project. 

What We Don't Like:

  • The amount of paint options in the app is a bit overwhelming. Search by paint family for easier browsing!

If you've ever been out and about and spotted color inspiration for your next project, this is the app for you; Color Capture puts the power of color matching in your pocket. Point and tap to take a picture of the color and Color Capture will match it.

Color Capture is free for iOS and Android. 

What We Like:

  • This app makes color matching a breeze, even outside of your home.

What We Don't Like:

  • There's no option for trying paint colors out on your own images.

Valspar/Apple 

If you're looking for an app to help streamline the color palette process, this is it. Valspar's Color Wand app has a ton of professional tools such as color matching, palette mixing, and scanning. Easy for non-professionals to use, take your palette straight to the store for easy pick-up.

What We Like:

  • This app has everything you need to choose paint colors for your entire home, all at once. 

What We Don't Like:

  • Like Color Capture, there's no option for trying paint colors out on your own images.

Paint Tester/Apple 

The Paint Tester app is a quick way to find a color and purchase it right away. Simply choose your paint color from the tool options and test the color on your surface. Then choose the cart button to be taken to the retailer. 

You can purchase Paint Tester Pro for $2.99 to removes ads and gain access to improved color matching.

What We Like:

  • This app is quick and easy to use for fast projects.

What We Don't Like:

  • You must purchase the premium version of the app to remove ads.

What We Like:

  • You have the option to try new flooring options and more using this app.

What We Don't Like:

  • The app is a tad bit slow compared to others.
