We all have 24 hours in a day, but somehow moms miraculously manage to get more done than the rest of us. Between caring for kids, running errands and balancing her career, she often turns to technology for help. To earn you the title of Favorite Child this holiday, we’ve rounded up a list of tech gadgets that will, among other things, save Mom precious time, keep her family and herself safe and make sure she never misses a meeting.

A home weather station doesn’t have to be a sight for sore eyes. Our favorite, the Netatmo, consists of two sleek aluminum monitors that you can display proudly on your countertop. And not only does it look good, but it’s stacked with advanced features.

The indoor monitor has a CO2 sensor to measure air quality. And considering we spend about 80 percent of our lives indoors, it’s crucial to know how clean our air is and make necessary adjustments. Netatmo also tracks data such as temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and sound, all of which can be visualized graphically in the accompanying mobile app. Our favorite part? The Netatmo supports Amazon Alexa, so you can ask for local weather forecasts and never get caught in a rainstorm without an umbrella again.

Amazon has refreshed its Echo product line, and as a result, we’re gifted the Echo Spot, which some are calling Amazon’s answer to the alarm clock. It’s a follow-up to the Echo Show, which also slapped a screen on the Echo lineup, but the Spot is smaller, better looking and more functional. Shaped like a ball with a flat base and a round touchscreen, it’s about the size of a grapefruit. Like the Echo Show, it has a front-facing camera to support video calling, plus Bluetooth connectivity to play your favorite music. It’s capable of connecting to your other smart home devices so you can just say “Alexa, dim the lights,” or “Alexa, lock the front door” and its far-field listening technology means it’ll pick up even the softest whisper of a query.

These days, busy moms just don’t have time for cleaning up after everyone else. That’s why we love the iRobot Braava jet Mopping Robot, which cleans dirt and stains in hard-to-reach places on hard floor surfaces, including hardwood, tile and stone. Once you attach a cleaning pad, the robot chooses between wet mopping, damp sweeping or dry sweeping and goes off on its merry way. But before it sprays the floor, it searches its surrounding for obstacles to protect your furniture and carpets. By activating the Virtual Wall Mode, you can set an invisible fence for your robot so that it doesn’t venture into off-limit rooms.

Moms have a way of magically meshing a whole household’s calendar into one, always there for pick-ups, drop-offs, sports practices, not to mention her own meetings and errands. But when their smartphone dies, things quickly fall apart. Help mom keep it all together with the Maxboost car charger. The 24W/4.8A charger plugs into your car and charges up to two devices simultaneously via its USB outputs. The outputs have blue LED lighting, so you can grab for them in the dark and its smart ports automatically optimize charging speed. Reviewers on Amazon report that it juices up your devices about as fast as a wall charger would, and its compact design keeps clutter to a minimum.

Whenever we lose something, we naturally turn to mom to help us find it. But – spoiler alert – sometimes moms lose things, too! Tile Mate is the world’s best-selling Bluetooth tracker and will help ensure that mom’s keys, phone or wallet never travel too far from her reach.

Twenty-five percent smaller than the original Tile, you can easily attach the Tile Mate to a keychain, slip it in a wallet or stick it on a laptop. Using the accompanying mobile app, you can ring the Tiles and the Bluetooth tracking will locate them in short to medium range. The Tile app logs the last time and place it had your item, so if you left it somewhere, you know where to look first. If your beloved items are beyond reach, you can tap into the community’s global network of more than five million Tiles to track it. According to Tile, its service helps recover over half a million items every day. (You can thank mom later.)

Give mom the peace of mind of knowing her family is safe with the Nest Protect, an industrial-grade smoke and carbon monoxide sensor. It alerts your phone when something is wrong and even tells you exactly what the problem is; no more mysterious chirping in the middle of the night. The USA-designed device tests itself automatically, so you always know it’s working, can be silenced from your smartphone and lasts up to 10 years. An added Split-Spectrum Sensor detects fast and slow burning fires, so you know how fast you need to act. The Nest Protect also comes in a battery version, should you prefer that.

Help mom preserve all her best memories with the Sony RX100. It stars a one-inch Exmor CMOS sensor that captures more light and detail than most point-and-shoots, with ISO ranging from 125 to 6400. Combined with its large-diameter F1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens with 3.6x zoom, the camera takes high-quality pictures with minimal noise, which you can save as JPEG files and ultra-high quality RAW files. It’s fairly compact considering its vast capabilities, measuring 2.29 x 1.41 x 4 inches. At this price point, it’s not exactly a camera for newbies, but makes a great gift for someone pursuing her passion in photography that doesn’t want a full-fledged DSLR.

While the newest MacBook Pro might look suspiciously similar to its previous model on the outside, on the inside, it packs some major upgrades. Equipped with a 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz, plus 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage, its performance is a step up, to say the least. Its display gets better, too; the 13-inch 2560 x 1600-pixel display produces eye-popping details and accurate colors at 123 percent of the sRGB spectrum. Design-loving moms will have fun mastering the new Touch Bar, a multi-touch OLED display panel that changes controls and settings depending on context. The latest model also ups the keyboard ante with a more responsive second-generation butterfly keyboard design. Even if mom has been a lifelong PC user, she’ll be thrilled by what we believe to be this year's best laptop.
