How To Use a Template in Evernote

Using a template in Evernote is a matter of copying a boilerplate note, then customizing it and re-saving it as its own note. The following steps will help you do this the first time.

You should be able to use this process on your desktop, mobile, or web version of Evernote.

1. Launch or open Evernote, then log in to your account.

2. To find existing boilerplate notes, you can visit Evernote's templates site.

3. To download the note template and open it in your Evernote user interface, select Save to Evernote template. This should associate the template with your account.

4. Choose a notebook you would like this boilerplate note to stay in, so you don't have to download it all over again the next time you want a fresh, unfilled copy of it. Next, select Copy to finalize the download to that folder.

You may love the template as-is, or you can make adjustments to your saved boilerplate copy, making it your own. Or, just jump in with your working copy for the project at hand, by customizing a template's contents.

That's it! Pretty soon, using templates in Evernote should feel like second nature. Now check out some of Evernote's best options as shown in the following slides.
