YouTube is a platform chock full of music, news, and entertainment. It's also great for learning, as it houses thousands of educational videos for toddlers. 

Music, enchanting characters, and fun combine with learning to create a mix both you and your preschooler will enjoy. Here are the top 10 educational videos YouTube has to offer for your child.

Blippi is a children's favorite with over 2.4 million subscribers. Take Blippi and mix him with ice cream and you have a winning combination. Plus, toddlers get to learn some simple math along the way. 

What We Like:

  • Blippi is fun, upbeat, and captures attention while delivering educational material. It's almost as if we're not learning anything at all. 
  • If your child gets hooked, Blippi has a huge selection of videos that are just as educational as this one. 

What We Don't Like:

  • At the end of the video, Blippi creates sundaes out of clay, something that smaller children might try and eat.

 Wow English TV

Steve, a fun and upbeat English gentleman, and Maggie, a lovely bird with a big personality, make Wow English TV's videos captivating. This particular video takes your child on a trip to the zoo, complete with monkeys and other interesting animals. 

What We Like:

  • Steve and Maggie teach animal sounds and names through repetition.
  • Asking questions, they engage with little ones of all ages. 

What We Don't Like:

  • Maggie's voice is unique to the point of being a bit unnerving. However, your child may enjoy it.

If you have a preschooler, chances are you've heard of Baby Shark. The song is catchy, capturing the hearts of toddlers all over the world. PinkFong's Baby Shark is no exception. It teaches hand movements while giving your child some much-needed exercise. 

What We Like:

  • It's engaging and helps toddlers understand the difference between different sea creatures.

What We Don't Like:

  • Baby Shark is not easily forgotten. Your child might sing the catchy tune over and over, even after the video is over.

 Mother Goose Club

Some toddlers are still apprehensive about taking a bath. Mother Goose Club's bath video includes a catchy tune and a super cute kid dressed as a mouse. The little mouse takes you through the steps in a rememberable way, making bath time look like fun. 

What We Like:

  • Even the most apprehensive toddlers will be more inclined to jump in the bath after watching this video. 

What We Don't Like:

  • This video simply isn't long enough. Add a few more minutes to the end and it would be perfect.

When you need a video that's engaging, educational, and relaxing, this is the one. It's nearly an hour long and full of nursery rhymes such as The Wheels on the Bus and Row, Row, Row Your Boat. 

What We Like:

  • There is so much to see in this video. From learning letters to our head, shoulders, knees and toes, this video has it all. 

What We Don't Like:

  • The video is fast moving from start to finish without any breaks. It can be a lot to take in for the youngest little ones.

 Super Simple Songs

Learning a morning routine is critical for preschoolers. This video teaches your child how to brush their teeth, wash their face, and more. The puppet is cute and the song is as catchy as it is easy to remember.

What We Like:

  • Brushing your teeth has never looked so fun! This video takes the apprehension out of getting ready in the morning.   

What We Don't Like:

  • We wish this video had even more to give to complete the morning routine, including eating a good breakfast and making our bed.

 Illuminated Films

You might have read this classic story while learning to read yourself. Your toddler will enjoy this story and fall in love with the caterpillar crawling across the screen. 

What We Like:

  • Nothing beats a classic that helps to develop an early love for reading within your child.

What We Don't Like:

  • Although a classic, this video isn't as enticing or eye-catching as the others. The youngest of children might get a bit bored.

Toddlers who are just now beginning to speak and form sentences benefit from early stage phonics. This video uses names of animals and a catchy tune to teach letter sounds. It's an educational video preschoolers of all ages can enjoy. 

What We Like:

  • The song is easy to remember and the graphics are bright. It's perfect for both infants and preschoolers. 

What We Don't Like:

  • Some of the letter sounds are difficult to understand and hear at first listen.

What little one doesn't love dinosaurs? This video features all kinds of dinos, a catchy song, and numbers all rolled into one. Each dinosaur's name is listed on the screen while they count up to the number 10. 

What We Like:

  • 10 Little Dinosaurs is simple and easy to follow for all ages. 

What We Don't Like:

  • This video is only a little over two minutes long. For longer lasting fun, check out their compilation videos.

Fisher-Price is known for their educational toys, but they also curate fun videos on YouTube for preschoolers. This video is great for teaching first words with object recognition.

What We Like:

  • The characters are adorable and fun to listen to.
  • The words are easy to say, making it perfect for little ones of all ages. 

What We Don't Like:

  • There are so many first words in such a short amount of time.
