Anthony Ortega has extensive IT support and systems engineering experience in government environments. A solutions-focused professional, he has led staff; worked in network operations support, information assurance, and change management; managed project software and licenses; and provided quality assurance. Anthony is currently working on his DM/IST with a projected completion date in 2019. Anthony has also been a professional freelance technology author since 2012 and has written hundreds of technical articles in a variety of subjects to include application security, cloud security, VoIP, wireless technologies, operating system updates, tech gadgets, and many more. With over 20 years of experience in computer and technology support, Anthony has been involved with technology since the 1980s.
Anthony’s experience began when he was a pre-teen playing computer games and writing homework using MS DOS programs. In high school, Anthony would help a couple of his teachers with computer issues they had with Windows 95. In college, he took computer programming and networking classes and began his career with the Department of Defense as an intern where he learned about satellite communications, radio frequencies, power, and grounding before changing gears to the field of information assurance and security engineering. From there, he went on to pursue other avenues as a senior systems engineer, configuration manager, and operations analyst where he currently supports information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) as a defense contractor.
In addition, Anthony has also served as a subject matter expert to help create college coursework for classes in VoIP and UC, Windows Security, HTML and CSS Coding, Computer Accounting, Wireless, Mobile, and Cloud security, and several others. Anthony created course lectures, presentations, grading rubrics, video scripts, quizzes, and final exams based on recent technology for each class.
Anthony attended a small community college to earn an associates of general studies and associates of applied science degree in computer science and moved forward to earn a bachelor’s of IT, masters of information systems/management, and MBA in IT management. Anthony is currently in his third year of a four year doctorate of management in organizational leadership with a specialization in information systems and technology with projected completion in 2019.
