Shown on this page is an example of the Classico CL-2 Bookshelf Speakers used for the mains and surrounds for this system. Just with the center channel speaker shown on the previous page, you can see a front view with the grill on, a view with the grill removed, and a look at the rear connections. The speaker terminals are the same that used on the previously shown CL-C center channel speaker.

Here are the feature and specifications of Classico CL-2 speaker:

1. 2-Way BLAST-modified Transmission Line Design. Bass/Midrange: (One 5.25-inch moving coil polymer damped carbon fiber) - Tweeter (CDT 3 Cylindrical Diaphragm Transducer, 180° horizontal and 30° vertical dispersion).

2. Frequency Response: 39Hz - 22kHz +/- 3dB

3. Sensitivity: 90dB @ 2.83v/1 meter

4. Impedance: 4 ohms.

5. Power Handling: 100w undistorted amplifier power - Minimum Recommended Power: 15 Watts

6. Crossover Frequency: None Required

7. Enclosure Composition: 3/4-inch internally braced MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).

8. Dimensions: (HWD) 7-inches x 13.4 in x 9 in.

9. Weight: 12.5 lbs.

10. Finishes Available: Genuine cherry or ash veneers, dark cherry or black ash finish.

11. Price: $397.50 (each)

Here is the final photo in our look at the Anthony Gallo Acoustics Classico 5.1 system that shows a close-up view of the controls and connections provided on the CLS-10 powered subwoofer.

Connections: RCA Line and High-Level speaker inputs/outputs.

The RCA Line input is where you can connect either a mono or stereo Sub or LFE output from our home theater receiver or amplifier. If using a single audio subwoofer connection - use the Left channel inputs. The RCA line outputs can be used to connect to a second subwoofer if desired.

The high-level connections are intended to be used when a normal line-level subwoofer connection is not available. These connections enable the connection of standard speaker outputs from a receiver or amplifier to the subwoofer. Then using the high-level output connections on the sub, the audio signal be routed to a set of main speakers.

When using the either the RCA or High-Level connections you can use the crossover settings to set what frequencies the Subwoofer will use and what frequencies will be sent to main speakers.

Controls (right side of the photo starting from the top and going down)

Phase: This control matched matches in/out subwoofer driver motion to the satellite speakers. This control can be set at either 0 or 180-degrees.

Bypass/Crossover: Enables or disables the subwoofer's internal crossover settings. If you are using a home theater receiver that has its own internal subwoofer crossover settings, set the Crossover switch on the CL-S10 to Bypass.

Level: This is also referred to as Gain or Volume. This is used to set the sound output of the subwoofer in relation to the other speakers.

Power Switch: This can be set to always On, Auto (goes into standby mode when no subwoofer signal is detected), and Off.

Bass Boost: Provides extra output power at very low frequencies to compensate for room conditions or other factors.

Crossover: The crossover control sets the point at which you want the subwoofer to produce low-frequency sounds, against the ability of the satellite speakers to reproduce low-frequency sounds. The crossover adjustment is variable from 35 to 150Hz. This control should be set at the 150Hz point or Bypass if you are using the subwoofer crossover controls that are available on many home theater receivers.

Power Indicator: LED light that displays subwoofer power status. If the subwoofer is plugged into AC power and the light is red, that means it either off, or in standby mode. If the subwoofer is on, the light will display green.
