With today’s launch of Crucible, Amazon just might have your next favorite game. Relenteless Studios Amazon’s first big-budget sci-fi shooter, Crucible, is out today as a free-to-play game on Steam. Behind the scenes: We’ve already got a lot of games like this on our consoles and PCs, including Fortnite, Overwatch, Apex Legends, and more. Amazon is taking its first tentative steps into becoming a game developer instead of just a publisher, making Crucible a litmus test for the company. It doesn’t hurt that Amazon owns Twitch, either, the “watch me play video games” service; in fact, many reviews of this new release have pointed out how watchable Crucible is.
