About Alien Breed Obliteration - Free PC Game

Alien Breed Obliteration is a top down action shooter and remake of the classic Amiga game Alien Breed. It was developed in 2005 by an independent developer known as FlashJesterPunk and closely mirrors the look and feel of the original Team 17 developed game from 1991. Like the original Amiga version, Alien Breed Obliteration is played from the top-down perspective, similar in style to Gauntlet arcade game. It is loosely based on the movie Aliens where players control an IPC Marie who is sent out to investigate a planetary outpost in deep space known as CL1-M4X, which is akin to LV-426 planet from Aliens.

Alien Breed Obliteration is a non-stop, shoot 'em up style action game where the primary objective is to blast your way through the outpost that has been overrun by aliens in order to find the source of the invasion. Players make their way through the outpost, navigating alien infested corridors and rooms which give the game that same claustrophobic feel of the movie. Along the way, players will be able to pick up ammunition, keys, health, money and weapons to help them in their goal of putting and end to the aliens once and for all. The wide array of weapons which includes grenades, flamethrowers, lasers and machine guns, all of which will become essential throughout the game. The game supports both keyboard and gamepad based controls

About Alien Breed Series

The Alien Breed series that this homebrew/freeware Alien Breed Obliteration is based on is a series of top-down shoot 'em up and platform style games that were developed and released for primarily the Commodore Amiga computer system. There was a total of six games released for various Amiga versions from 1991 through 1996 with the series ending with Alien Breed 3D II: The Killing Grounds. There were other planned sequels and spinoffs for other platforms but they were eventually cancelled.

In 2009 the original development team, Team17, rebooted the series with Alien Breed: Evolution which was released for Windows PCs, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. This game was followed by three more releases bringing the total to four games in the second set of games in the series. This second set of Alien Breed releases also brought in upgraded graphics and gameplay but stayed somewhat true to the original design and with the top down shooter elements.
