Use Smart Folders to Restore Search For Items to the Finder Sidebar

Ever since OS X Lion, the Finder's sidebar is missing the Search For section that used to be included in previous versions of the Finder. If you miss the ability to quickly find content you worked on today, yesterday, or this week, or you want quick access to all your images, movies, and documents, then you will find these images, which depict the necessary search criteria for each smart search, a helpful aid to the guide:
